When Max finds an app that promises to get him a date with his crush, Angeline, the digital love algorithm sends him bizarre tasks to get her attention. What would you do, and who would you hurt, for a 78% chance to make your crush fall in love with you? Join us for a reading from the short story and a discussion about speculative fiction.

Katharine Tyndall is a writer whose short stories have featured in Nightmare, Fatal Flaw, and others. She is a 2025 Finalist for the Grist Imagine 2200 contest, and the 2024 winner of the Berlin Sci-Fi Film Festival Short Story Competition. She is currently at work on her first novel. When not writing, she can be found in the woods identifying plants and fungi.
